Yeo & Yeo Offers Agribusiness Seminar for Family Farms

Saginaw, MI: Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Business Consultants is pleased to offer an agribusiness seminar, Managing Market Risks + Transitioning Your Family Farm, on Tuesday, August 30, from 8:00-11:00 a.m., at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw.

Mark Gold of Top Third Ag Marketing will provide insight of the day’s market action and trends. He will discuss strategies to manage risks in volatile markets, and how farmers can become better agricultural marketers of crops and livestock. Gold is a grain analyst on the radio, AgDay TV and U.S. Farm Report.

Kent Creager of Nationwide will speak about matters that significantly affect the transition of the family farm, such as farm equity, retirement plans, next generation financing, inheritable assets, and addressing the difficult interpersonal issues. He will share Nationwide’s Land As Your Legacy® program, which helps families leverage their largest asset and guides families through the critical decisions to help ensure that the dream of passing on the family farm becomes reality.

“The seminar will address two topics that are vital for the success of farm families, that are the most overlooked by the average farm. We’re dealing with risk management now, and the future success of their operation when the owner retires or when the unexpected happens,” says Eric Sowatsky, CPA, leader of Yeo & Yeo’s Agribusiness Services Group.

Yeo & Yeo CPAs and wealth advisors will also share a farm update on current regulatory issues and opportunities in family farming and agribusiness today.

Spouses, siblings and/or those directly involved in a farm’s transition plan are encouraged to attend. For more information or to register for the breakfast seminar, visit yeoandyeo.com, or email Terra Lewis at [email protected] with the names of those who will attend.
