McLaren Bay Region to Announce Nursing Excellence Award Winners on May 4

Bay City, MI -- McLaren Bay Region will announce the winners of the eleventh annual Nursing Excellence Awards on Wed., May 4th. Three nurses and one nursing support staff will receive the award, recognizing those who have exemplified excellence in practice, education, leadership, and community involvement. The number of nurses who are employed at McLaren Bay Region totals 500 and the total number of nursing support staff is 235.

The awards are presented during Nurses Week and the May 4th celebration also includes recognition of those nurses who have achieved Clinical III and Clinical IV status in their chosen areas of practice.

Also announced will be the recipients of the sixth annual McLaren Bay Medical Foundation Grant for McLaren Bay Region/McLaren Bay Special Care Employees Pursuing Education in Healthcare. McLaren Bay Medical Foundation is offering five grants to current employees of McLaren Bay Region and McLaren Bay Special Care. These grants are intended to assist clinical employees to upgrade their educational and skill levels. Each grant award can be up to $5,000.

The May 4th awards celebration will take place at 2 p.m. in the main cafeteria at McLaren Bay Region, 1900 Columbus Ave., Bay City.
