McLAREN Bay Region offers Heart Health & stroke screening

McLaren Bay Region will be offering a Heart Health & Stroke Screening at the Center for Rehabilitation, 3190 East Midland Road, Bay City, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

You have the power to prevent stroke! Stroke doesn’t discriminate; it affects people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. Fortunately, most strokes are preventable, and you can take steps now to reduce having a stroke.

The Heart Health & Stroke Screening will include blood pressure and pulse, diabetes screening, and full lipid profile, which includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides, results counseling and a risk reduction plan.  A 12-hour fast is required for accurate results. Even though this is a fasting blood test, it is extremely important that participants take morning medication as usual, with a sip of water. The cost for the screening is $10.00 per person.
