SBDC Great Lakes Bay Region Hires New Business Consultant

University Center, MI – August 18, 2014 – The Small Business Development Center Great Lakes Bay Region (SBDC GLBR) is pleased to announce the addition of Patrick McElgunn to its team of business consultants.  The SBDC GLBR provides training, market research, and no-cost, confidential business counseling to entrepreneurs, innovators, and business owners across the Great Lakes Bay Region and Arenac County.

As a coach and former business owner, McElgunn brings over a decade of experience in mentoring, leadership, team building, and entrepreneurial experience to the region.  He recently closed his business, Armory Lacrosse, in Midland to pursue his passion of working with entrepreneurs and to obtain his Master’s degree in entrepreneurship from Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU).

“Having run my own business for several years I know the magnitude of ‘hats’ business owners have to wear,” said Patrick McElgunn, Business Consultant for the Small Business Development Center Great Lakes Bay Region.  “My goal will be to help other entrepreneurs and business owners organize the tools and resources available to them so they sustain long term success.”

McElgunn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hope College.  He has worked as a lacrosse coach since 2011.  In August 2013, McElgunn became the Head Coach for the Men’s Lacrosse Team at Northwood University.  He resides in Midland with his wife, Shannon, who is a Registered ER Nurse.  The McElgunn’s are expecting their first child, a daughter, in November.

Entrepreneurs and business owners can schedule their free, one-on-one counseling with McElgunn by calling the regional office at (989) 686-9597 or by contacting him directly at (989) 758-3625 or [email protected].
