YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region Job Description Program Coordinator The Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of economic empowerment programs at the YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region. This includes the Women’s Resource Center, Getting Ahead Workshop, parent education program and the Professional Development Series. Two Program Coordinators are employed by the YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region and work concurrently to complete the following duties: Women’s Resource Center services include assisting clients with computer literacy skills, resume development and cover letters, job searching, posting resumes and other employability skills. Getting Ahead Program services include implementing the 13-week economic empowerment curriculum to participants with follow-up support services. Professional Development services include the delivery of educational classes and non-profit best practices via the Professional Development series. Parent Education services are based on term contracts with the Department of Human Services. Responsibilities may include parent education for families in home or a classroom setting. Services for these programs are provided throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. Responsibilities Assist with implementation of all career and employability services at the Women’s Resource Center. Assist with planning and implementing the Getting Ahead Workshop including recruitment, assessments, continued support services and the mentoring program. Parent education to support the parent education program via the Department of Human Services. Assist with planning and implementing the Professional Development Series and the Non-Profit Best Practices Series. Community outreach, marketing and publications such as expo’s, United Way activities, Chamber’s and other opportunities to market YWCA programs. Participate in networking events and other groups. Provide additional support as needed with all fundraising events such as the Riverside Art Festival, Women of Achievement and Women’s Empowerment Symposium. Other duties as assigned. Education The Program Coordinator will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas of focus: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Family Ecology, Consumer/Community Services, Family Studies, Family or Child Development, Guidance/School Counseling, Counseling Psychology or Criminal Justice. This is a required component of implementing the parent education contract. Qualifications 2-3 years of experience with underserved in a counseling or case management capacity. Excellent technology skills and proficient in basic computers skills, word, excel and publisher. Ability to write resumes and assist with employability skills. Parent education experience or willingness to develop this skill. Experience working in a fundraising capacity such as seeking sponsorships or developing plans for fundraising events is not required but a plus. Salary and Benefits This is a full time position with no health benefits. Retirement when eligible. Salary range is based on education and experience.
