Event Description: Francis Barton was born in the “primeval forest” of Midland County in 1855, of an early pioneer family. Coming of age in the lumber woods, Frank worked for a decade cutting trees in winter and risking life and limb on river drives each spring. An accomplished hunter, fisherman, foreman and farmer, he helped transform Midland from a wilderness village into Chemical City. Step back in time with Kyle Bagnall, Manager of Historical Programs, as he presents a costumed, first-person program based on the life of this lumberman from our past.
