Event Description: In conjunction with SAM's 3rd Annual Great Lakes Bay En Plein Air Festival (June 12 - 17, 2017), learn about the father of Barbizon Landscape Paintiing through the museum's permanent collection gallery, The Glory of France: From Artifice to Reality. Then, head out into the Charles A. Platt Italianate Gardens an examine the flora before painting your own "Big Tree." Finally, when the paint is dry, add in details about yourimmediate relative to create your own family tree en plein air! This activity is provided free of charge to children ages 15 and under, and is free with regular admission for anyone over 15 ($3 for students or seniors; $5 for adults). Please note that the number of participants is capped at 20, and that young children must be accompanied by an adult. As such, RSVP's are encouraged, though not required.
