Event Description: In 1842, a new Michigan law required log marks to be registered in each county where logs were to be cut into lumber. Join Kyle Bagnall, Manager of Historical Programs, in a look at log marks, banking grounds, river drives, and the men who moved millions of cut logs from forest to mill each spring. Most logs moved through Midland County on their way to Saginaw sawmills. We’ll investigate traces of a time when brave river hogs battled the elements (and each other) on our local streams.
