Event Description: Venture out to CNC for Maple Syrup Day with food and fun for all ages! Admission is free for CNC members and all children. Admission is $4/nonmember adult. Start your day with a Pancake Meal, open to members only from 9-10 am for $6 (ages 13 and up), $4 (ages 3-12), under 3 free. The meal is open to the public from 10 am-2 pm: $7 (ages 13 and up), $5 (ages 3-12), under 3 free. (Note: members will receive the discount price the entire day.) Beginning at 10 am, crafts, activities and demonstrations will take place at the Visitor Center, Homestead Farm, Log Schoolhouse, Sugarhouse and Sugarbush. In the Visitor Center, kids will love playing maple tree games and making a paper mokuk and a craft to take home. In the River Overlook, the Midland Woodcarvers and traditional skills instructor, Jim Miller, will be working on their latest projects. Nearby at the wigwam, chat with an educator as you learn about Native American life along the Pine River many years ago. Visit Nature Preschool from 10 am-2 pm to meet the teachers, see the classrooms in this LEED(TM) Gold certified building and learn about the curriculum. Registration is now open for the 2017-18 school year. Catch a haywagon ride to the Sugarhouse to see how CNC boils sap into pure maple syrup. You'll also find an 1870's sap boiling demonstration, Sugarbush tours and a tree-tapping activity. In the Log Cabin, you'll find a woodstove cooking demonstration and kids craft station. At the Log Schoolhouse, everyone can sing along to original songs in the "Maple Music Matinee" with Dennis Pilaske and watch a special puppet play about this sweet time of year. 400 S Badour Rd Midland, MI 48640
