Event Description: Since 2004, a breeding bird banding program has taken place at CNC’s wetlands area during summer months. The goal is to demonstrate to the public the process of scientific, long-term ecological data collection and to provide opportunities to witness the diversity of local bird populations. Alma College professor of biology Mike Bishop conducts the research, recruits his college students for assistance, and answers questions while describing the birds in hand. People get to see the birds up close while learning about their natural history and plumage details. Today Mike will review the twelve years of data and describe what he has learned about our local bird populations. FREE | Ages 9 and up, under 18 w/adult 400 S Badour Rd Midland, MI 48640
