Wolverine Bank and Horizon Bank Team Up in Pledging $100,000 to Flood Relief in the Great Lakes Bay Region |

Wolverine Bank and Horizon Bank Team Up in Pledging $100,000 to Flood Relief in the Great Lakes Bay Region
Midland, MI and Michigan City, IN (June 30, 2017) – In response to the historic flooding in the Great Lakes Bay Region, Wolverine Bank and Horizon Bank are supporting flood relief efforts with a donation in the amount of $100,000.
United Way of Midland County and the The Midland Area Community Foundation have jointly established a Disaster Relief Fund. $50,000 of this pledge will go into this fund. All of the donations to the Disaster Relief Fund will go toward those impacted, under the direction of the Midland County Office for Emergency Management. To qualify, residents must first report flood damage through the Midland 911 website, found here: http://bit.ly/2sUacOC, or by calling 989-837-3500. Community members can also donate to the fund at www.midlandfoundation.org.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and neighbors in the Great Lakes Bay Region who have been impacted by the severe flooding in our area," said David Dunn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wolverine Bank. “We hope that this donation will help with immediate relief needs as well as recovery efforts."
On June 14, 2017, Horizon Bancorp and Wolverine Bancorp, announced a definitive agreement whereby Horizon will acquire Wolverine and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Wolverine Bank. The transaction is expected to be completed by the late third quarter or early fourth quarter of 2017. The partnership with Horizon Bank will provide new opportunities to increase the depth of banking products and services in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
