McLaren Bay Region Announces New Director of the McLaren Bay Medical Foundation

Clarence Sevillian, President & CEO, McLaren Bay Region, announced Peter Shannon as the new Director of the McLaren Bay Medical Foundation. Shannon fills the position previously held by Konnie Gill, who retired in November 2016.

Shannon has over 33 years of professional, non-profit leadership and fund development experience. He previously served as the Foundation Director of Sparrow Clinton Hospital in St. Johns, Michigan where he completed a $2.2 million dollar capital fund drive. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Michigan State University.

Shannon was pleased to accept the role stating, "I met my wife while working at Bay City State Park and we are thrilled to come back to the Bay Area community. I look forward to joining the McLaren Bay Medical Foundation and working with the board and staff to build a strong development program that will ultimately impact the Bay Region patients and families."

With a vast record of community involvement, some of Shannon’s contributions include chairing the administrative committee of the Mid-Michigan Charitable Foundation, leading the Rotary Club of St. Johns as president in 2012-2013 and serving on the Board for five years. He has also volunteered with organizations including the Greater Lansing Food Bank, Clinton County Food Distribution, Capital Area United Way and more.

Shannon’s new position will take effect on March 6, 2017. “McLaren Bay Region and the McLaren Bay Medical Foundation look forward to adding Mr. Shannon’s leadership and solid experience to allow us to continue to improve the health of the communities we serve,” Sevillian said.
